Meet Lisa

Lisa, Owner and Barn Manager of Hill Crest Farm LLC, is a USDF Bronze Medalist with a lifelong passion for horses and teaching. Her equestrian journey began at just seven years old when she started riding at Frank Person Stables. After only three lessons, her father bought her first horse, Joy, and she quickly discovered a love for showing that would shape her career.

Over the years, Lisa successfully competed with several accomplished American Saddlebreds, earning numerous championships and top ribbons throughout her junior and amateur career. Her competitive background has provided her with a strong foundation in horsemanship, sportsmanship, and rider development.

In 2003, Lisa founded Hill Crest Farm with the goal of creating a welcoming, safe, and professional environment where both horses and riders could thrive. In 2017, the farm expanded to include a 14-stall barn and an indoor arena, allowing the program to continue growing while providing quality care and year-round training.

Today, Lisa combines her decades of experience with a passion for continued education. After discovering dressage, she earned her USDF Bronze Medal and continues to train and compete under the guidance of Cheryl Ash with her current partner, Rave. She regularly participates in lessons, clinics, and competitions to further develop her knowledge and bring the latest training techniques back to her students.

Lisa has had the privilege of riding in clinics with respected professionals, including Betsy Steiner, Wolfgang Scherzer, Lauren Spierer, Marilyn Payne and Cara Klothe.

As a proud member of USDF, USEF, and ESDCTA, Lisa believes that great horsemanship never stops evolving. Whether working with a first-time rider or an experienced competitor, her focus remains the same: quality instruction, exceptional horse care, and creating a positive environment where riders can build confidence, achieve their goals, and enjoy every step of the journey.
