Hill Crest Farm LLC is proud to welcome Teri to our growing lesson program. With a lifetime dedicated to horses, riding, and horsemanship, Teri brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm that will be a tremendous asset to our riders and barn family.

Originally from Long Island, New York, Teri began riding at the age of six and quickly developed a passion for horses that has spanned decades. Her diverse equestrian background includes Hunter Seat Equitation, jumpers, pleasure horses, and dressage. Throughout her journey, she has had the opportunity to train under many respected horsemen and women, including Virginia Rice, Mary O’Rourke, Harry DeLeyer at Thomas’s School of Horsemanship, and Linda Thomas Bateman at Equitation Lodge.

Over the years, Teri has worked with a wide variety of horses, from seasoned schoolmasters to young prospects and horses returning to work. Her extensive experience in both training and competition has helped shape her thoughtful, well-rounded approach to teaching and horsemanship. Among her many accomplishments, Teri earned the title of Grand Champion Orange County Pleasure Horse in 1990 with Superb, owned by Bill and Gale Brugeman.

 

Teri’s passion for learning has never faded. Her appreciation for dressage has continued to grow through years of riding, training, and mentorship with accomplished equestrians, further expanding her understanding of horse development and rider education.

 

Outside of the barn, Teri recently retired after a distinguished 33-year career in healthcare administration with Ridgewood Orthopedic Group, a division of OrthoNJ. Her professionalism, leadership, and dedication to helping others have been hallmarks of both her professional and equestrian careers.

 

We are excited to have Teri join the Hill Crest Farm team and share her experience, patience, and lifelong love of horses with our students. Her commitment to quality instruction, horsemanship, and rider development makes her a wonderful addition to our program.
